Obamacare Upheld!

|

CNN.com reports that the heavily disputed Affordable Care Act "Obamacare" has been declared valid by the United States Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision.

The deciding vote was cast by Chief Justice John Roberts, who has typically sided with the politically conservative members of the Supreme Court during his tenure as Chief Justice over the past seven years.

The landmark case sets the tone for a great deal of political discord in this year's elections cycle where presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney has vowed to eliminate "Obamacare" if he is elected as President of the United States in November.

The Supreme Court typically decides "major" cases in June, near the end of their yearly term.
